Pro Start list announced for Putrajaya 70.3 – Crowie and Rebekah Keat leads the field

Fresh from his win in the recent IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong, Australia, Craig “Crowie” Alexander heads the men’s professional field for the coming TIME IRONMAN 70.3 Putrajaya on Sunday, April 5. Alexander – an all time favourite among Malaysians and participants of the coming event, will be the event ambassador for the second year running this 2015. He will face some tough competition coming from his countryman Joshua Amberger who led until the 6k mark, the strong field of Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay in the Philippines one week ago and finished third. Domenico Passuelo from Italy is also coming from a win in similar hot weather conditions, he was the Champion at Challenge Philippines also in Subic Bay on the 21st of February.

On the women’s side, Australian Rebekah Keat will be leading the women’s professional field this year. Bek, a world class Australian female triathlete, has been racing triathlons at the elite level since her junior years with over 17 years in the sport. Demonstrating incredible form in 2013, she achieved a hat-trick of 70.3 wins in a row – Canberra, Shepparton and Austin. Bek is the third fastest woman in IRONMAN history.
Her main competitor is Parys Edwards, who is spending a season in Asia and just won Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay last weekend and has several professional podiums in her belt. She is in incredible form right now and has been on the podium in every race she has participated in the last six months

Participants can also look forward to a new and exciting venue chosen for this year’s TIME IRONMAN 70.3 PUTRAJAYA. The new venue at Anjung Floria, Precinct 4, Putrajaya is the home of the Royal Floria Putrajaya Flower and Garden Festival. The new location provides an amazing green scenery and an aesthetically unique Seri Saujana Bridge as the backdrop for the swim start and finish.
