Alcala (PHL), Santiago (PHL) Top Finishers of 2023 Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay

John Alcala of Team TRI-SND Barracuda and Ines Santiago of Team Herbalife are the top overall finishers of the 2023 Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay.

Amidst the backdrop of the wet and rainy weather brought upon by the typhoon Chedeng, Alcala and Santiago prevailed upon the conditions to win with finish times of 4:43:35 and 5:36:00 respectively.

Santiago used her 2nd best swim time of 39:23 and women’s best 1:51:35 to propel her to the first female overall finish.  Alcala had to come from behind after a 39:20 swim start which put him at 28th place.   Alcala’s race best 21km run of 1:27:02 put him 1 minute and 1 second ahead of runner-up Irienold Reig Jr.  Augusto Benedicto rounded out podium spot with a 3rd place finish at 4:48:29 finish.
