Ashleigh Gentle Looking to Grab 9th Noosa Win; Men’s Elite Title Up for Grabs

Asleigh Gentle is looking to win her 9th elite women’s title this weekend at the 2022 Noosa Triathlon.  While dismissing notions of simply winning by just showing up, Gentle is still the huge pre-race favorite, as she has won 8th of the last 9 Noosa Triathlon race.

The 2022 Noosa Triathlon race expects around 6,000 triathletes toe the start line at Noosa Beach, considered the world’s largest Olympic distance race.

Since its first race in 1983 the competition has evolved from a single day race into an annual five-day multisport festival celebrating sports participation, healthy lifestyles, fitness and fun.

In the men’s elite race, it’s a three cornered battle between 2-time winner Jacob Birtwhistle, 2021 champion Luke Willian and reigning Asia-Pacific Ironman Champions Max Nuemann.
