Bart Aernouts of Belgium and Imogen Simmonds of Switzerland won the 2020 Ironman 70.3 Dubai elite titles with finishing times of 3:33:45 and 3:58:37 respectively.
Aernouts and Simmonds both used the strength of their category best bike splits and second-best run splits to grab the wins.
Aernouts posted the all-time fastest time in Dubai, 1:03 better then the previous record by Norwegian Kristian Blummenfelt in 2016. Simmonds also broke the fastest women’s time, beating the 4:00:04 set by Holly lawrence (GBR) in 2019.
