53 different nationalities Competed at the Singapore International Triathlon 2018

Singapore’s National athletes led all winners at the 2018 Singapore International Triathlon.17 year old Nicholas Rachmadi, one of Singapore fastest rising youth sporting star who recently competed in the Gold Coast World Triathlon Championship took champion for the Singapore National Title for the Sprint distance with time of 1 hour 4 minutes and 11 seconds more than 9 minutes ahead of second place Casey Lim Kin Yun who finished with a time of 1 hour 13minutes and 42 seconds.

21 year old Bryce Chong took the Standard distance national championship with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes and 2 seconds ahead of 2015 SEA Games Singapore triathlete Wille Loo and Zacharias Low who finished at 2 hours 10 minutes 26 seconds and 2 hours 10 minutes and 35 seconds respectively.

As Singapore’s premier triathlon event , the 34th annual edition attract almost 1800 age-group participants are expected to race across the aforementioned sprint distance as well as standard distance (1.5km-36km-10km), mini (200m-12km-2km), and kids (100m-6km-1km). Relay categories will also allow teams of three to complete the race and experience triathlon. More than 800 overseas participants come from 53 countries, making this one of the most diverse editions in its 34-year history.

Managing Director Orange Rom, Elvin Ting mentioned: “As the years go by, the Singapore International Triathlon goes from strength to strength. This year’s race is a dazzling display of how far triathlon has come in our nation and we hope to continue encouraging everyone to tap into their competitive spirit, get healthy, and enjoy this amazing sport.”
