Aussies Sam Betten and Dimity Lee Duke seek to extend their respective reigns as they return to the beautiful island of Panglao, Bohol for the Bellevue Resort 5i50 Triathlon on Nov. 6 at the Bellevue Resort.
The towering Betten and Lee Duke banner the field in the 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run race that puts competitors in a challenging course set in the middle of paradise and staking $2,000 for the men’s and women’s pro champions.
Philippine-based pro Dan Brown and German pro Henry Beck looks to stop the 6-foot-4 Betten while Aussie Michelle Duffield, Kiwi Amelia Rose Watkinson and Aussie Pro Rebecca Ohlwein are set out to challenge Lee-Duke.
“The defending champions are coming back not only because they want to defend their titles but also because they genuinely love Bohol and Panglao Island,” said Fred Uytengsu, founder of the organizing Sunrise Events, Inc. during the press launch at Bellevue Hotel Alabang.
SEI has partnered with Bellevue Resort, a world-class resort on the coastline of Panglao, in staging the season-ending event, which expects over 600 participants.
According to Uytengsu, they are also holding the Sunrise Sprint, a short distance race series for the first time in Bohol. Sunrise Sprint features a 750m swim, 20k bike, 5K run.
