Ironman Philippines 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championships Announces Pro Line-up

Sunrise Events, Inc. announced the elite field that will take on the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship on August 7.   A world-class field of 35 pros are set to race in Cebu including three-time Ironman world champion Craig Alexander, defending champion Tim Reed, Tim Van Berkel, Brent McMahon and Brad Kahlefeldt.  Women’s defending champion Caroline Steffen will headline the pro women, and will face stiff competition from 2015 3rd placer Dimity Lee Duke, Radka Vodickova and Amelia Rose Watkinson.


Nearly 2900 race participants from 43 countries will take over the road and waters of Mactan, Cebu for this 2017 Ironman World Championship qualifier event.  Fifty slots will be up for grabs for the Championship to be held in Tennessee, USA next year.

“We are truly honored to be chosen as host for the Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship, marking the first time that this elite event is held in Asia, outside of Australia and New Zealand,” said SEI president Wilfred Uytengsu Jr.
