“Among the 90 or so international events in the IRONMAN 70.3® series, Mont-Tremblant stands out more and more each year. The level of passion here is still very high,” said Dominique Piché, producer and race director. “The registrations were snapped up in just 24 hours. This speaks to the popularity of these high-level events, to the support of the many volunteers and to the dedication of the local community who were major success factors as well.”

Occupying a top spot in the list of events in the IRONMAN® series, the IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant and the IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant have been held in Mont-Tremblant (Laurentian region of Quebec) since 2012. IRONMAN 5i50 (formerly the Mont-Tremblant Triathlon) joined the extended IRONMAN family back in 2014. With these three events, the Mont-Tremblant region is positioned as a go-to destination and is set to host over 7,000 athletes in 2016. Organized as part of the World Triathlon Corporation circuit, the IRONMAN competitions are one of the longest triathlon formats: the races are particularly demanding, with a combination of 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and a full marathon. Very similar to the regular IRONMAN events, IRONMAN 70.3 covers one-half of the distances while IRONMAN 5i50 includes the Olympic distance and the sprint distance.
