The inaugural Ironman 70.3 Vietnam is taking place this coming Sunday, May 10th – learn more about the course below and what to expect on race day.
Swim Course
The 1.9 Kilometer swim course will start and end in the beach front of Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa. The swim will have a beach start where participants will be released in waves and where they will follow a clockwise rectangular swim course.

Transition
There will only be one transition area for the whole triathlon race and it is located at the open property beside the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa. Participants will exit the swim and will run towards the transition area about 200 meters away. They will grab their bikes and head to the exit and mount their bikes on the main road.
Bike Course
The bike course will start at the exit of Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa. Participants will bike on Tuong Sa where they will pass different hotels and resorts until they enter the open beach areas. From there, they head straight to Vo Nguyen Giap road and go straight passing numerous public beaches and hotels until they exit the resort areas and enter the narrow roads of Hoang Sa.
Participants will then make a left turn in the road of Le Duc Tho and then cross the first short small bridge leading towards the iconic bridge of Thuan Phuoc Bridge, a short climb to the top followed by a fast descent. They will head straight using the roads of Nguyen Tat Thanh where they will start the multi lap course. 1 loop is about 19.2km, participants will need to make 3 loops before heading back to the bridge.
From the Nguyen Tat Thanh, participants will bike straight towards the end of the road. After 9.6km they make a turn around and head back towards the second turn around point. Hydration stations will be available at this point.
At the second turn around point participants have completed the first loop with a distance of 19.2km. Participants will now start its second and third loop, completing the 57.6km multi loop course. After completing the 3 loops, participants will head back to the Thuan Phuoc Bridge bridge, follow the main road head back to Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa hotel and enter the transition area, ending the 90km bike course.
Run
From the transition area participants will rack their bikes and head back out in the main road of Tuong Sa. They will then head straight and head to the public beaches and open beach areas of Danang. At about 10km away, participants will turn around just before Le Duc Tho road.
After making a turn-around participants will head back to the transition area in Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa. After entering the transition area, participants follow the route towards the beach for the finish line of the VNG Ironman 70.3.
